Ever since we created the International Channels for non-SG and non-MY players to play in, there has been a lot of complaints from you guys. I really don't see where the problem is. Maybe I need another discussion session with all of you to try to explain what is happening and why.
For a short version of my rant, scroll all the way down until you see green words.
What is happening
We started with 2 channels renamed to International Brigade, and had non-SG and non-MY players restricted to them for playing SF.
We have complaints that it is laggy, and the Vietnamese are foul in their language, and there's not enough players in the SG Brigades.
Then, we changed to 3 channels, taking over Brigade-10.
We have complaints that it is laggy, and the Vietnamese are foul in their language, and there's not enough players in the SG Brigades. And there are complaints that Brigade-10 is the Clan War Brigade.
Recently, we made 6 of them into International Brigades.
We have complaints that it is laggy, and the Philippinos are foul in their language, and there's not enough players in the SG Brigades.
Why these are happening
Vietnam SF had to be closed due to the government's orders. I don't have the details, but you might want to search for it yourself.
Ever since VSF's closure, our numbers have increased, but most rooms have more VN players than SG players. In order to make this version of SF dedicated to Singapore, we created international channels and restricted all non-SG and non-MY players there. This means players from Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, etc, can play in SGSF, but only in the International Brigades. They have zero access to the SG Brigades.
Ever since this restriction, we see that there are about 200 players from Vietnam, and only 30 from SG. With more players in the International Brigades then SG Brigades, SG players are going to the International Brigades.
Brigade-10 is quite a unique issue for me. I know most of our players are loyal fans of the Special Force game, but to follow USF and use Brigade-10 for scrims only... This is Singapore SF, not America SF. If we are to follow exactly the same as USF and maintain Brigade-10 for scrims only, then how are we any different from USF? This is our own server, our own version of the game. Why not make it uniquely Singapore? This is why we made the effort to create an SOF, a PASKAL, we asked for Black Devil able permanently instead of event only, and we decided to update with some of KSF's latest updates instead of following the same small updates as USF. You don't need Brigade-10 to be scrim only. Make it Brigade-01, the first channel that you see. Make it the one channel for true players who scrim. Let Brigade-02 be the place for non-hardcore players. Who needs Brigade-10 and USF now that you have your own place and your own rules?
Recently, with PSF having some issues, they hav come to SGSF for some refuge. It's like when a country is at war, and the innocents want to run from it. We are giving them shelter. Some of them like SGSF, and if they want to stay, we do not want to reject them. Once again, we do restrict them to only the International Channels, because our Singaporean players should have their space.
Right now, you see that only 6 of the 12 Singapore channels are for Singaporeans only. This is only because we don't have enough Singaporean players yet. Imagine, if all 12 channels are filled with local players, do you think we will remove the International Brigades and make space for Singaporeans? HELL YES! We are waiting for more Singaporeans to come and play. We are preparing to create Singapore Server 2 for you. We only need to press a few keys, and SGSF can hold the entire populaiton of Singapore!
So where is the problem?
You do not need to go to International Brigades to play.
You can stay in the SG Brigades and avoid VN and PH players.
You can visit the Malaysia Brigades and avoid VN and PH players.
VN and PH players cannot visit SG Brigades.
If they cannot visit SG Brigades, they cannot lag your game.
If they cannot visit SG Brigades, they cannot speak an unknown language.
If they cannot visit SG Brigades, they cannot use foul language on you.
SG Brigades need more people.
Call your friends.
Call your school mates.
Call your neighbours.
Call your Facebook friends.
We are advertising, but the most powerful advertising is when a friend introduces another friend. If a stranger tells you, "This candy is good", will you take it? If your friend tells you, "This candy is good", will you take it? The same concept for SF applies.
We are not invincible. We need help, as do any and all companies in the world. Do you know that even your school needs advertising? They do it in that oversized, heavy book of a list of schools. They state the school name, their achievements, and why students should enrol in their school after PSLE. It's advertising!
So do think about the situation carefully.
If you don't want to play with Philippine players, don't go to International Brigades.
If SG Brigades do not have enough players, call your friends.
Simple?

sorry bout the foul language of the filipinos. some are really like that. but there are still friendly players here in PSF :D Good Job about the characters and the effort, if i only had the chance to live there. id live there in singapore to play Singapore Soldier Front and i'd really advertise it to my friends and relatives :)

ReplyDeleteabout that using KSF latest updates thing , please release the maps that USF have while we dont have and dont act smart updating KSF updates as those updates got no meanings at all,we want more scrim maps, so that more clans will be more active and scrim and there will be another 5more gamers stepping into sg channel
ReplyDeleteLoL. The problem is would the amount of SG players actually increase? If it doesn't, GM save your breath on saying advertising.. You have been saying that for the past months and did the amount of SG players increase? Are we happy with the server now?

ReplyDeleteSG players does increase in fact we got more than 100+players or actually more than that now we do not know as there are more PH and Viet players playing. Actually SG players does welcome Viets just that GM you really need to try to lower their ping. I am just being fair.. no offence to the PH but they are really annoying saying that our SF sucks all and the players. What is this? we didn't say anything and they say this kind of things in our Server? But seriously GM please consider of banning PH players.

ReplyDeletehere in the philippines we are experincing laggy but we can handle it! but oppusin to the vietnamese complaints ! then I see that there pc is so called old ! special force can handle it but if there pc is old then there playing experince is laggy! high ping will be experince or they have low DSL or broadband lines!

im hoping i can play SSF, and i need to escape from PSF because lots of players are using cheats and i cant take it anymore, my rank now in PSF -
(red eagle,lt. col.) and im spending lots of money to have that rank but, more and more cheaters come, so i'll rather play singaporeSF than PSF.... i wish...
one more thing i have now slow download and its my second download, coz, my 1st was broken...
If our friends start playing SF and gets lagged (from PH and VN players obviously)and knowing that the game is hosted locally, what would be their rational response?
ReplyDeleteNo doubt you are definitely getting more revenue from these players but if you keep relying on them you will only get to see the population of local players fall.
SSF will be unique to other SFs like what you wanted. A locally hosted game dedicated to players from other countries.
As a dedicated player to this game, I do not wish to see that scenario ever happening here in SINGAPORE SF
As this game is hosted by a server, the more laggers/players there are in the game, the laggier the game would be overall for the players. Since the PH players came, I noticed even more problems such as positioning problems. Some nades were seen 10 metres away while i was standing still but when it exploded, it killed me. Lagger walking through corners would seem as if they were IN the wall. Hope you would consider some of the side effects to letting the PH / VN in that will affect the gameplay of the rest of the people.

ReplyDeleteI would advise DFI to ban the phils and let the viets. By letting the phils play with their not less that 300 ping, players might go back to USF Considering they have more guns there, the lag is about the same ( might be less laggier ) and they have more players. Viets only have low pings of about 70-200 so I don't really mind them. Furthermore, I can see that 95% of the philipines people are not friendly / cocky with all sorts of funny attitutes that insults players from Singapore/ Australia and even Vietnam. I hope the GMs would test out the game more frequently using "undercover" accounts and get to know more problems instead of sitting in the office, organising events once in a while and using their GM accounts to play once in a while. I do know that they have many admin work to do so I hope DFI would hire some 1-2 active players who play the game 7-10 hours a day and collect infomation such as the sudden lagginess after the Phils started to play or listen to the feedbacks of the players once in a while INGAME. The game has many problems that the company do not know such as the positioning problem which i heard from a paramount member that he just recently HEARD.

Firstly, they do affect the lag ( not the ping but the lag. Its VERY different) causing a 1 second delay even if the pings are only 100 and 60. This I think is the server lag.
Secondly, what did you all said when you just started SSF? Language, English. What are you tryign to do now? Increasing your source of income without thinking about the initial rules you set. Why do we have to change channels to avoid seeing foreign languages and lag when the language is SUPPOSEDLY English? All because you had too few players, you changed your policy, taking away benefits slowly and painfully from Singaporeans/Australians and giving them to the Philippine/Vietnam which will in turn backfire and cause the players in Singapore/Australia to decrease and the cycle continues.
Lastly , what happened to your no insults/ vulgarities rule? Just because the Phillipines are here, just because they are the majority of the players, you are closing one eye to their misconduct, scolding peoples mothers calling people weak, using vulgarities as if it was LOL. Just look at their conduct. Its not just their pings. The depict themselves to us that they are a whole bunch of uneducated d*gs with no manners. They just create a whole lot of trainee accounts, changing accounts everytime they run out of sp. Do you not agree with me? I still remember some random guy banned me for some time for misbehaiving ingame or whatever you called it for raging Viets who were spamming vulgarities like nobody's business at me 1st. Well how is this fair? Even if they were banned, their ranks were only trainees-2nd liues who had many other accounts to play while the account that I was banned in was my main acc a ltc.

They will of course try it like in the example of a friend asking another friend to try the candy. But the problem would be, will they continue to eat the candy or to throw it away. I trust that many people have offered the candy and that the problem is with DFI. It is DFI's job to ensure that the people who started to lick the candy will like it and continue to eat it. You cannot see the effect that we have put in to invite more friends to play the game but they would quit it in a day or two.
PH players are weird, today, i played and i talked to them, and it end up to be like what ever they are talking, plus, whats a bobo? I really dont like it and they said that ''Singaporeans are monkeys''. please ban their country from playing SGSF
ReplyDeleteAgree a bit with u above, We should only make them speak English, like every single time I kill a Viet it will be a "dkm" I guess that's a mother **cker and a Phil would be "weak" or "babo"...wth...One time I killed a guy many times in a Death Matach he kept saying "babo..." to me, when I ask him what does it mean, he said "____ don't know what ____ means he's weak" WTF...they're joining an international game shouldn't they be speaking ENGLISH
ReplyDeleteThe problem about the advertisement is that SF is very similar to those other Fps that they are addicted to. Examples are like blackshot and counterstrike.We need to make the game not only Fps,but something unique.
